The Škoda Trainee Program is individually tailored to each trainee according to his or her focus. The core of the program consists of rotations, which are designed to match the trainee's future focus as closely as possible. Through the rotations, you will get to know Škoda Auto, its structure and corporate culture.
Tech-trainee

We are looking for candidates from all technical disciplines - innovators, programmers, mechanical engineers, data analysts, electrical engineers, quality and logistics experts and many more. Learn about the latest technologies and be at the birth of innovations.
IT Trainee
During the one year you will try working in different areas of our IT department and get involved in many interesting projects. For example, you could help us build a virtual development center for prototype-free development, which will replace live agents in the CallCentre with AI for spoken and written communication, or integrating suppliers, clients and production into one SAP system to optimize logistics. You can also be involved in the analysis and implementation of automation processes using AI, the implementation of new AGVs (Automated Guided Vehicles) for the automatic distribution of production and logistics parts, or digitalization and automation using chatbots.
Business Trainee
Develop the areas of marketing, sales, finance, IT, strategy, procurement or HR with us. Find out, how it works in one of the largest companies in the Czech Republic and meet experts and other trainees from around the world. You will be guided by experienced managers throughout the year.

Trainee Program in a nutshell
The Trainee Program will help you discover the field that truly excites and fulfills you. Over the course of one year, you’ll get hands-on experience working in several departments of Škoda Auto. You'll also participate in innovative projects in various areas, including electromobility, AI, or marketing.
Requirements
Hold a bachelor's or master's degree at the time of entry (max. 2 years after graduation). Or bachelor's graduates who are still pursuing a distance or combined engineering or master's degree.Expected Experience

It all starts with a Welcome & Goodbye Party, where we welcome new trainees and say goodbye to outgoing ones. It's the first opportunity to start networking and get inspired by program alumni and colleagues.
The following days are dedicated to onboarding activities, including a tour of several facilities. You can look forward to visiting Motorsport, the Skoda Museum, development areas and more. In addition, new trainees will enjoy team building with current trainees.
The onboarding activities end with a production experience, where trainees will try to assemble cars directly on the production line.
First Department
After approximately three weeks, the trainee begins his or her first rotation. The selection of the first department is done in two ways. In both cases, we first find out from the new trainees what they are most interested in and enjoy doing. We then combine their findings with the recommendations of experienced managers, the observers from the assessment center. In this way, we get an intersection of departments in which the new trainee could profile.
The first method of selection is that the department is actively looking for a trainee for the rotation, so we have listed a project that the trainee could work on. If the project is not listed in the department, we will contact the department and make individual arrangements.
Both methods continue with an interview between the trainee and the selected department. The trainee starts the first rotation if the interview results in mutual interest.
Other Rotations
Rotations may or may not be scheduled during the first rotation period (the first 3 months of the program). In practice, the trainee chooses the next rotations according to his or her preferences, which are enriched by the experience of the department where he or she is already working and the information he or she receives through the network. A mentor or trainee program coordinator is always available to help plan the next rotations.

When to apply?
You can apply while still studying, but you must be a graduate by the time you start the program. However, if you are studying for your master's degree in a distance study mode, you can apply right away and finish your studies during the Trainee program. Don’t forget to also add your CV to your application.

How does the selection process work?
You submit your application, take language tests, have an in-person or Skype interview, and then showcase your skills at the Assessment Center (AC). After that, you can look forward to the results.
CV screening
The recruiter has 2 weeks from the time you submit your application to review your CV.
Online language test
If you pass the CV screening, a link to an online language test will be sent to you within 3 weeks of submitting your application.
Face-to-face/online interview
During the in-person or online meeting, we’ll get to know each other better and discuss mutual expectations.
Nomination for the Assessment Centre
You will know no later than 3 weeks after the interview whether you are going through to the next round of the selection process.
Assessment Center
At the end of the Assessment Centre, you will find out whether you have been accepted.
Start of the program
From AC to your onboarding, you are already in close contact with the program coordinator who will help you through the onboarding process.
Where does the Škoda Trainee program take place?
The placement can be at any Škoda Auto plant in the Czech Republic based on the current requirements of the company departments. However, most trainees are based in Mladá Boleslav, where the company's headquarters are located.
How many trainees will you be recruiting this year?
The number of trainees is limited to 25 participants per year.
As a trainee, will I be working part-time or full-time?
The Škoda Trainee program is a standard full-time job. It is a regular employment relationship, where you can also take advantage of all employee benefits.
What is the difference between Trainee program and direct employment?
Both types of entry into the company are equivalent. Every applicant must decide what type suits them the best. Škoda Trainee program provides the opportunity to get to know different departments and make contacts within the company.
What is the difference between Trainee program and an internship?
The Trainee program is a full-time position for university graduates with work experience. An internship is suitable for gaining work experience while studying.
Is it possible to reapply?
Unfortunately, in the case of the Škoda Trainee program, a candidate can apply only once.
If I am interested in joining the Škoda Trainee program in September, when is the right time to apply?
We recommend applying approximately 4 months before the planned start date, especially due to the demanding nature and capacity of the selection process.
What happens if I am successful in all rounds of the selection process but do not manage to graduate on time?
You do not have to worry about losing your place in the Trainee program. We always deal with these situations on an individual basis.
Is it an advantage to live in Mladá Boleslav?
Living in or around Mlada Boleslav is not a necessity, it depends on the location of your rotation and your willingness to commute. However, we recommend that you take advantage of the accommodation offered near Mlada Boleslav, at least in the first month after starting, as your presence will be required almost every day due to on-boarding activities. It is also a good opportunity to strengthen relationships with other trainees.
Will I be entitled to a transport allowance if I commute?
As part of the Trainee program, you will have the opportunity to rent a car on operating lease at a discounted price for employees. And if you do not want to commute, you can use accommodation at a nominal cost.
What kind of employment contract will I get?
When commencing the Trainee program, a fixed-term (one year) employment contract is concluded. After successful completion of the program, there are many options for the next steps at Škoda Auto.
What is the salary of trainees?
The remuneration of trainees is based on a tariff system consisting of a basic and an incentive component. Excellent results are reflected in the personal remuneration which the trainee is eligible for after 3 months at the company. When these amounts are added together, the trainee receives up to 60,000 CZK per month.
What is the typical career path of trainees after completing the Škoda Trainee program?
The Škoda Trainee program is suitable for both professionals and potential managers at various levels. However, it is not a management program. Completing it does not guarantee fast career progression, but it does give you the opportunity to develop professionally and personally and build a network of contacts.
